VivianSex and the city - x-files

I wonder, once you are in a relationship, does one have to open the x-file or can it be kept closed? Is it the sooner u know, the better, cos then u know where he comes from and what u get? Or is it that as long as what u get doesn’t itch, everything is going in the right direction. And hopefully this direction is ‘up’?
I personally prefer the x-file to be open, however I assume that all I could ever read into it, is jealousy. Jealous of what I wonder? That the other girl was maybe more intimate with him that I could ever be? Maybe because I would like to see myself as the only one knowing him better than anyone else.
However, I once had a acquaintance, who when she got together with that guy, said that she would have to stay with him for more than 12 years, because this is how long his ex had been with him, only then could she be sure that she is the only one in his life who understands him better than anyone else before. Well, I was shocked, 12 years seem and awful long time to be only with one person. Maybe after some time you will be glad to move on. So why be jealous in the first place? Problem solved don’t u think?
On the other site u don’t wanna be on the dating market with 32. So is it better to go through the jealousy and all the troubles? Well, if it is meant to work out, then I guess it doesn’t matter if you go through the troublesome time of thinking abt his ex. Cos if it is meant to be, nothing that little troublesome will prevent u from staying with him. So maybe in the end all of that doesn’t matter.
